1. Personal data we process
Mettaya processes personal data because the client uses Mettaya's services or provide it himself/herself, for example via email, WhatsApp, phone, the contact form, or registration for a training, session, or newsletter.
The data that may be processed includes:

Phone number (only if used for contact via call or WhatsApp)

Information shared during an introductory meeting or session, as relevant to the training or coaching
We process this data exclusively for:

2. Newsletter
The client can subscribe to the Mettaya newsletter (Mindful Mail) via the website or in person. If the client has attended a session, he/she is automatically subscribed.
For this, the first and last name and email address are used.
The client can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the newsletter or by emailing info@mettaya.com.
3. Confidentiality of personal information
Information shared during sessions or training is treated as strictly confidential.
Any notes made during introductory meetings or sessions are for temporary use only, are not stored digitally, and are not retained long-term.
In group sessions, participants are asked not to share personal stories of others outside the group.
Mettaya operates according to the ethical guidelines of the VMBN professional association.
4. Sharing personal data with third parties
Mettaya does not sell or share personal data with third parties, except when strictly necessary:

For legal obligations (e.g., administration for the Dutch Tax Authority)

For processing by third parties performing work on behalf of Mettaya (e.g., accountant)
5. Security of personal data
Mettaya takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, and unwanted disclosure, including:

Careful handling of paper notes
6. Data retention

Administrative data (e.g., invoices) are retained as legally required, up to 7 years.

Other personal data are kept no longer than necessary for providing the training or coaching.

Paper notes are destroyed when no longer relevant.

Newsletter data (first name, last name, email) are kept until the client unsubscribes.
7. Cookies
Mettaya uses the Consentik GDPR Cookie Banner app to comply with applicable laws and regulations. This app informs users about cookies and allows users to accept or refuse cookie placement.
8. Rights of data subjects
The client has the right to:

Access, correct, or delete his/her personal data

Object to the processing of his/her data

Withdraw his/her consent at any time
The client can exercise these rights by contacting info@mettaya.com.
Mettaya will respond as soon as possible, within 30 days.
If the client feels that his/her request is not handled satisfactorily, he/she can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9. Changes to this privacy policy
Mettaya reserves the right to update this privacy policy.
