About me and Mettaya

Welcome.
I’m Sara Horváth and I have been living in the Netherlands for 12 years. Love brought me here, which I embraced wholeheartedly. Moving to a new country taught me what it means to start over, to find your place as an expat, and to create a sense of home and belonging from scratch.

As a child, I traveled extensively because of my father’s work as a sports coach. My mother is a tireless and inspiring educator. I also trained in high-level sports and began teaching from a young age. When I moved to France at seventeen to pursue sports and live independently, I met my husband.

From an early age, I have been fascinated by psychology, philosophy, writing, drawing, and personal development. This curiosity has enriched and inspired me throughout my life. I am deeply interested in the person behind the story and the story behind the person.

I spent 15 years in the corporate world. Whatever I did, my greatest satisfaction came from seeing people thrive, building trust, and fostering sustainable relationships.

Despite an outwardly successful life, I felt something was missing. Chronic pain, an autoimmune condition, and years of high achievement and constantly being “switched on” forced me to make a change. I chose to stop and begin a process I call my “pain-out.” When I let go of everything, everything fell into place.

Mindfulness, breathwork, and creativity helped me recover and became my professional calling. This combination of awareness, practical tools, and body-centered techniques has transformed my life. I now experience more calm, resilience, self-confidence, and joy in everyday life.

I consider it a privilege to support others in their personal growth, to guide them in finding balance and resilience, and to continue learning every day about what it means to be human.

The approach of Mettaya

At Mettaya, I believe that true growth begins with attention and awareness. Small shifts in how you handle stress and daily patterns can lead to profound and lasting effects. That is why I work in a practical, evidence-based way, with an approach that is effective and applicable both at work and in daily life.

‘Metta’ means loving-kindness.

‘Aya’ represents the uniqueness of each person and their individual path.
